The first 15 years of my marriage were filled with some of the best memories. 

My husband and I were always travelling, active, and social. We were fit, sexy … happy.

Over the past few years, I suddenly started gaining weight

I ignored it at first, thinking – hoping – it would go away on its own. But it didn’t. And it started to negatively impact my health, happiness, and marriage.

Like most people, I was always led to believe by doctors and the media that the only way to shed pounds was through diet and exercise.

My knees and back ached simply from sitting too long or walking up a flight of stairs.

I was stressed all the time and started having random anxiety attacks that made me snappy, hard to be around, and kept me awake for days on end.

My doctor said that I was well on my way to developing diabetes with how high my levels of triglycerides (fat cells) were climbing.
